Privacy and data use should be understandable.

Clarity is built for sensitive diligence, so the product has to be direct about account data, room evidence, billing metadata, and support handling.

Privacy principles

Data use follows the room purpose.

Clarity does not sell customer data or room activity data.Stripe-hosted payment surfaces collect card details; Clarity stores Stripe identifiers, invoice metadata, subscription state, and billing contact details.Room activity, session telemetry, access decisions, watermark evidence, Q&A activity, download requests, and audit events are retained to support security, compliance, and deal evidence.Customer content is used to provide the VDR service, including document viewing, search, access control, previews, support, exports, and closeout packages.Support and security requests may require limited access to account metadata and evidence logs; customer document access should be minimized to the issue being handled.

Data we process

Clarity processes account details, authentication state, invite and access decisions, billing contact data, Stripe IDs, customer content, document metadata, support requests, room activity, security telemetry, audit events, and evidence exports needed to operate the VDR.

Why we process it

Data is processed to provide the service, secure rooms, enforce permissions, render documents, support search and previews, handle billing, troubleshoot issues, preserve deal evidence, and respond to customer instructions.

Payment data

Checkout, payment methods, and card details are handled by Stripe-hosted surfaces. Clarity stores subscription state, invoice metadata, customer IDs, and billing email details needed to reconcile entitlement and support requests.

Retention

Retention depends on room settings, legal holds, closeout procedures, audit evidence needs, and the customer's subscription state. Cancellation does not instantly delete data; customers should export required materials during the available post-cancellation window.
